| if by the sheer chance this person could've or tried to start the car they would've gotten half a block and puttered to a stop. I declined to install a fancy alarm the first time simply b/c at the time it didn't fit the budget .. it was 2 years ago and since then I'd left that apartment complex. To say having one this time would've prevented it moot, it may have .. it may not .. by the looks of it, it was a mere smash and grab ... they just lacked anything to grab. A fancy alarm would be nice .. but the paging feature wouldn't have helped. Since the car was parked 3 miles away from where I live, the pager would never have picked up the alarm (unless they've improved that range) Its pointless to argue .. the first incident was 2 years ago in a completely different town
